It's no secret that store-bought deodorants contain chemicals and toxins such as aluminum which has been shown to cause breast cancer. It's important to look at the ingredients of the products you buy. They should be simple and easy to pronounce!

It may seem like a hassle to make your own deodorant but it’s so much healthier for you and will definitely be worth it in the long run. It’s important to be mindful of what we put onto and into our bodies. The chemicals from store-bought deodorants absorb into our bodies through our sweat glands. Yuck!!

How to Make Your Own 100% Natural Homemade Deodorant!

Before you begin the recipe, make sure you have a small glass jar or a small repurposed jar (product empties) for your deodorant.

To Use: Rub a small amount into your armpits until absorbed. Apply as needed.

Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp Arrowroot Powder or Cornstarch

  • 1 tbsp Baking Soda

  • 1 tbsp Shea Butter

  • 1 tbsp Coconut oil, melted

  • 3-5 drops Essential oils

Directions

  • In a large bowl (glass or stainless steel), add all of your ingredients. Stir the ingredients together.

  • In a medium saucepan, bring water to a boil. Place the large bowl with the deodorant mixture on top and mix slowly until it's melted together.

  • Let the mixture cool before transferring it to your small jar.

  • Place the mixture in the fridge for 3-4 hours. You can store it at room temperature after it sets.
